Our story
In Cambodia we met the tuk-tuk driver Seng Chanty. Seng wanted to build a school in his village to provide free English lessons for children. However, his social project lacked the necessary financial resources. Together we developed the idea of renting out the empty rooms of his house to travelers and enabling them participate in the daily life of the village. Within three months, so many travelers visited Seng that he was able to build the school and hire an English teacher from the income.
Impact
Do good while sleeping
A socialbnb is an accommodation with impact. Every overnight stay supports a social or ecological project. Currently, we have 6 different types of projects on our website.
Impact Report
Every booking on socialbnb means a positive impact on the region. In order to make visible what has been created by the bookings, we would like to present our first Impact Report. The Impact Report presents each accommodation booked in 2022 with the corresponding project and continuously evaluates the actual added value of each overnight stay.
