What is an ecotourism farm?
An ecotourism farm, often referred to as an "eco-farm" or "agro-tourism farm", is a farm that emphasises sustainable, organic practices while offering travellers the opportunity to learn and experience how these practices are implemented right on the spot. The aim of ecotourism on such farms is to protect the environment, promote the local economy and educate visitors about organic farming and sustainable lifestyles.
What is community based tourism?
Community-based tourism is a form of sustainable tourism in which visitors are directly integrated into local communities. This not only creates economic opportunities, but also promotes cultural exchange and environmental protection.
The advantages of community-based tourism:
Authentic experiences: Immerse yourself in the community's way of life and experience local traditions first-hand.
Sustainable development: Community-based tourism promotes environmental and social responsibility by helping communities protect their natural resources while generating revenue.
Cultural exchange: Make personal connections with the locals and learn more about their history, customs and way of life.
