Day 1: Arrival at YAWE
Your journey begins with a warm welcome at the YAWE Foundation. Here you will get to know the goals of the organization and the current projects and determine to what extent you can and would like to provide meaningful support. The days at the YAWE Foundation can be arranged flexibly.
Day 2: Find the Chimpanzees
After your stay at the YAWE Foundation (flexibly adaptable), you will continue to the Kibaale National Park.
Here you have the unique opportunity to experience and observe chimpanzees in the wild. The treks are conducted by the local conservation program, which ensures responsible observation. The proceeds are used for the long-term protection of the chimpanzees and to prevent poaching.
Day 3 & 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park & Lake Mburo National Park
The next day is dedicated to exploring the fascinating Queen Elizabeth National Park. In a small safari vehicle with a local guide, you will set off in search of the Big 5. With a bit of luck, you will spot elephants, lions, zebras and antelopes.
The next day, you will head to the nearby Lake Mburo National Park, where you will have further opportunities to marvel at Uganda's biodiversity. In addition to numerous natural wonders and breathtaking scenery, you will end the day at sunset in the national park.
Day5: Farewell and ride back to Kampala
After an unforgettable sunrise in the national park, we return to the capital of Uganda. There is the option of spending more days with the YAWE Foundation and going on additional excursions.

What is included
The price of your 6-day adventure includes accommodation, transportation and admission to all national parks. You will also be accompanied by a local guide. You will have to pay for your own meals.
Packing list
Make sure to bring comfortable and durable clothing suitable for volunteer work and sportive activities. Especially for cultural activities, please pack modest clothing that covers knees and shoulders. To stay protected against mosquitos, bring along effective insect repellent. Besides, a first-aid kit, including essentials like band-aids, antiseptic wipes, personal medications, and toiletries, can be beneficial.
How to get there
The journey begins in Fort Portal at the YAWE Foundation. There are regular buses from the capital Kampala to Fort Portal. This takes around 5-6 hours. Alternatively, a pick-up service can also be organized.
