Our Impact 2022: Together for sustainable development
We are thrilled! What an exciting year is behind us! Just over a year ago, we at socialbnb officially opened our doors and processed the first bookings. We worked hard to get to this point, and as a young travel startup we had to struggle with the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. Now we are all the more pleased to finally be able to present our first results to you. Every booking with socialbnb has a positive impact on the region, and we would like to show you in our first impact report what has been achieved through these bookings.
Our Impact Report presents all accommodations booked in 2022 via socialbnb, together with the associated projects. He continuously evaluates the actual added value of each overnight stay. In the report you will find detailed descriptions of the project work, a detailed breakdown of the income generated and an overview of how the money was used on site. This report makes it clear that every contribution, no matter how small, can have great added value for the region and the local people. It is important to emphasize that the concept of socialbnb is only a supplement to the revenues of the projects. In many projects, much more has happened than is listed here. Our goal is to show transparently what was concretely achieved through our work at socialbnb. This year showed us how much we can achieve with the power of tourism. This motivates us all the more to enable further socialbnb experiences and to take a big step closer to our vision of tourism from which everyone benefits. We would like to thank our community, the first booker, our partners and projects worldwide as well as the best team in the world for their trust, cooperation and belief in changing things together.
How does socialbnb contribute to sustainable development?
As part of our efforts to realize sustainable tourist offers, we at socialbnb see it as our responsibility to meet ecological, economic and social challenges. We support projects that contribute to the realization of several UN sustainability goals. Each accommodation on our platform creates social or ecological added value. It is not mandatory that a potential project is linked to the tourism sector. socialbnb currently supports over 200 projects in almost 45 countries that work with us and promotes local communities. Through our digital platform, we have created a network of stakeholders to strengthen intersectional exchange. Our goal is to distribute tourism value creation more sustainably and at the same time promote cross-sectoral awareness of the goals of the 2030 Agenda.
