Mount of Oaks/Monte dos Carvalhos is hidden in the agricultural foothills of the Serra de Gardunha mountain. We are located between the historic villages of Castelo Novo, Alpedrinha and Povoa de Atalaia in the municipality of Fundão. The nearest major towns are Covilhã to the north and Castelo Branco to the south; a perfect base for various activities such as hiking, swimming, climbing and biking. How to get there

Getting here by TRAIN: Our nearest train station, a 40 min walk from us, is Alpedrinha and there is a direct route to Lisbon. For details about the train services in Portugal check http://www.cp.pt
BUS: The enarest bus stop is in Fundão, a local town 15km away. Check the bus website for travel within Portugal http://www.rede-expressos.pt/ This too has an option for English.
CAR: The GPS co-ordinates for the Mount of Oaks community are: LAT 40.06072 LONG – 7.28198 – check these details and make sure that you are coming to Castelo Novo/Alpedrinha/Povoa de Atalaia please.
