What your day will look like

We understand that the wind always has the last say. That's why we don't sail by a fixed plan or timeline - every day is unique and depends on the circumstances around us. Captain Ron Haynes has sailed all his life and has been the Captain of Florette for the past 25 years in the charter business. He, with his family and crew, will make sure your stay will be very special and unforgettable. Depending on the sailing area, weather and location, a daily plan will be made. This will give you the opportunity to see the highlights and still be able to relax and enjoy. We like to support the locals by using their excursions and enjoying their local food. To give us more flexibility, we usually provide six meals per week on most voyages, which we use best in our daily plans and charge extra if we feel we need more meals on board. Depending on the wind, weather and season, we plan the perfect daily routine! The shore excursions are made individually or in small groups.

Some Island Highlighs

  • Stromboli: This active volcano, nicknamed the "Lighthouse of the Mediterranean," offers guided sunset hikes to admire glowing lava displays and surreal volcanic landscapes, or you can relax on its dramatic black sand beaches for a calmer experience.
  • Panarea: The smallest Aeolian gem enchants with whitewashed villas, vibrant bougainvillea, and chic boutiques, perfect for luxury seekers who want to wander San Pietro’s alleys, snorkel hidden coves, or hike scenic coastal trails.
  • Salina: Dubbed the "Green Island," Salina’s lush landscapes produce capers, Malvasia wine, and figs—ideal for food lovers—and its Monte Fossa delle Felci hike rewards with sweeping views of neighboring isles.
  • Vulcano: Hike the Gran Crater trail to gaze at steaming fumaroles and sulfur deposits before indulging in therapeutic mud baths in the island’s famed sulfur springs.
  • Lipari: The largest island blends ancient charm and modern vibrancy—explore its historic acropolis and museum, stroll harborside streets, or kayak dramatic coastlines for a rich cultural experience.

No prior sailing experience is required, though all crew must be in good health and reasonably fit; participants over 60 (and especially over 70) need a doctor’s clearance. Before ocean crossings, you’ll have a one‑on‑one interview with Captain Ron Haynes to ensure the voyage suits your abilities and the onboard team dynamic. There will be a maximum of 22 people on board at the same time, but often less.

Where will I sleep?

We have the following sleeping arrangements:

  • 5x family cabins (double+single)

The voyages start from different ports in Italy. This fall it will be either Vibo Marina or Lapari.
