Stilt Fishing

You have the opportunity to take part in traditional “stilt fishing”, where you can watch a group of experienced fishermen practicing this centuries-old tradition. After you have learned how to do it, you will have the opportunity to fish on stilts yourself and catch a few different types of fish in the area, which you can then eat for lunch or dinner on the same day if you wish.

Cultural Highlights

You will visit a nearby village where the hosts will tell you about the way of life in the villages of Ahangama. Here you will also learn more about Sri Lankan cuisine. The traditional, organic ingredients, along with the stilt fish catch of the day, will be prepared in front of your eyes. You can look forward to a true taste experience. The hosts will also be happy to show you their various traditions, such as weaving with their fingers and making household items such as carpets, placemats and chairs.

Surroundings

If you still have some more time after your Impact Experience, you can test the waves. Ahangama is one of Sri Lanka's top surf spots. Accommodation

This accommodation is a cozy guest house with double rooms directly on the beach in a small private bay. Some of the rooms are air-conditioned and some have a balcony, inviting you to enjoy a comfortable and relaxing stay. All meals are included.
