2 Weeks in the Bazaruto Archipelago – Scientific Training at Africa’s Ocean Observatory.
Welcome to the “Experience & Assist” program at the Bazaruto Center for Scientific Studies (BCSS)—your gateway to real marine research at an active station on Benguerra Island. For two weeks, you’ll live and work side by side with scientists and technical staff, dive in one of the world’s most biodiverse marine areas, and contribute directly to ongoing research and conservation projects.

Where you'll be
You are responsible for arranging your own travel. The destination airport is Vilanculos (VNX), which can be reached by direct flights from Johannesburg and Maputo. From there, it’s a short boat ride to Benguerra Island.
