My life has changed since I volunteered in Costa Rica in 2004. I have been working in environmental projects since 2006 & am passionate about sea turtles.
In our efforts to create environments where people and sea turtles can live together in harmony, we have developed several projects. The first includes a series of conservation and research programs on the Caribbean and South Pacific coasts of Costa Rica. The Caribbean program is located on the beaches of Cahuita, Moin and Pacuare, where we focus on the nesting sites of leatherback, green and hawksbill sea turtles, while the South Pacific project is located on the Osa Peninsula, where we are working to restore mangrove forests and seagrass beds, as well as researching the rare hawksbill turtles of the Eastern Pacific.
We have also launched a tourism project to create alternative livelihoods by training local partners on how to host volunteers and tourists in homestays.
