Project Wings is a young NGO with the goal of combating three of the world's biggest problems: Species extinction, rainforest clearing and the ongoing plastic flood. To this end, Project Wings is building the world's largest recycling village made of plastic waste in Indonesia. Nature is being cleaned up and sustainable awareness is being created.
Our long-term goals are mainly the expansion of the awareness work (environmental education) and the completion of the recycling village.
Because only locals work with us on site in Sumatra, by now the whole village of Bukit Lawang knows our work and our project, which sensitizes the population for the topic of sustainability. With the recycling

Location
How to get there
To get to us from Medan Airport (Kuala Namu) there are two options. Either you take a private cab (leaves anytime), or you can take the public bus to Bukit Lawang (leaves until about 6pm). The cab will cost you 600,000 rupiah (about 40€) for one trip regardless of the number of people and will take about 3-4 hours. By bus you will reach us in 5-6 hours and the trip will cost you 50.000-60.000 Rupiah (3-4€).
