About your accomodation

Our lovely furnished mill hostel with a total of five rooms is located directly next to our historic water mill in Förstgen.The accommodation is the former rooms of the last miller Lindner, which have been restored with great attention to detail.Now you have the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing time out in the calm Upper Lusatia.
This 29 m² modern twin room incl.bathroom is our second historically furnished room and looks very cozy because of the beautiful floorboards and the nice old furniture...

Activities

A beautiful place from where you can start many trips (walking or by bicycle) into the Biosphärenreservat Oberlausitzer Heide- und Teichlandschaft.
Located right on the Seeadlerrundweg, the accommodation offers you an excellent opportunity to explore the almost 90 km circular route, which can be done in two or more stages. The mill can be the starting point, the stopover or the destination.
A particularly great activity, especially for the youngest among us is the visit to the sheep enclosure.

How to get there

The mill in Förstgen is best reached by car coming from the south (A4 exit Bautzen Ost).Take the B156 north for about 2 km and then turn onto the S109.Follow this road for 16 km and then turn onto the S55 to Förstgen.Before entering the village, you can already turn left into the Mühweg...

Wer Schafe und Ziegen mag, wird den Ort lieben. Hier finden regelmäßig Veranstaltungen zu Thema Umweltbildung usw. statt. Wir waren zur Veranstaltung: mit dem Schäfer unterwegs. Es hat sich gelohnt. Auch für Familien mit Kindern sehr gut geeignet. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Ein Traum. Landschaft und Naturschützer bilden eine Einheit. Auch Kinder sind willkommen und können in vielen Projekten viel über die Lausitz und ihre tierischen und pflanzlichen Bewohner erfahren. Ein Höhepunkt in der Lausitz.

About the project

For 30 years white polled heaths and Boer goats have been caring for valuable areas in Upper Lusatia (Oberlausitz), thus conserving rare animal and plant species. Not only that - with their help, we as a nature conservation station also reach a wide variety of people, to whom we can thus bring nature closer. The Association for the Promotion of Nature in the Upper Lusatian Heath and Pond Landscape, a recognized nature conservation station "Östliche Oberlausitz" of the district of Görlitz since August 2016, has supported nature conservation work in the natural area of the same name since its foundation and today far beyond.

It has played a significant role in the successful establishment and development of the UNESCO biosphere reserve Upper Lusatian Heath and Pond Landscape.
