Hi, I'm Nicole and I’ll be happy to host you during your stay!
Un poco del Chocó is a 15-hectare nature reserve and biological research station in the Northwest of Ecuador. Since 2008 this private conservation project has been promoting education and research in the Chocó Andino ecoregion. The greatest threats to the protection of the area are habitat loss and fragmentation due to deforestation and ranching. Through close cooperation with local nature conservation initiatives and Ecuadorian NGOs, sustainable land use in the region is supported in the long term.
Furthermore, the reserve is part of a forest school project and organises environmental education workshops for the local primary school. Various long-term monitoring
