Red Rocks Initiative for Sustainable Development is an African NGO founded in 2017 to promote sustainable development in the Virunga Mountains region of East Africa.
We believe in community-driven sustainable development. The Red Rocks Initiative supports locally-led conservation and sustainable tourism initiatives. Our initiatives create sustainable livelihoods for local communities and have the power to lift underserved communities out of poverty and give them a sense of purpose and pride. To achieve our goals, we rely on the expertise and commitment of local as well as international partners.

You can go on great hikes in the Volcanoes National Park, for example on Bisoke Mountain or Karisimbi Mountain. We also offer cultural activities such as pottery, traditional dances, banana beer making and cow dung painting. A city tour of Musanze is also highly recommended to see all the sights. …

How to get there
You can travel by public transport or by private vehicle.From Musanze town (Ruhengeri) you continue from the bus station on the Kigali Ruhengeri Rd/RN4.After about 1km turn left after the Courthouse Musanze.
From here drive another 7.2km towards Nyakinama village...
