About your accomodation
Centro Yanachaga’s two guesthouses offer sustainable accommodation in 12 spacious rooms for guests and groups of up to 30 people. Each room has its own bathroom and two, three, or four beds. The Restaurant "Yanachaga" offers refreshments and meals with hacienda products: vegetables, fruit, milk, cheese, trout, chicken, and coffee. There are alternating simple meals of the regional cuisine to choose from. The Oxapampa region is not exactly one of Peru’s tourist highlights. But for people who want to get to know “authentic” rural life, indigenous people, and untouched landscapes or who are on their way to the Amazon region, it is quite attractive. Places of interest are the german-tyrolian colony Pozuzo, several waterfalls, and the National Park "Yanachaga-Chemillén" next to our hacienda.

You can reach Centro Yanachaga from Lima by car or coach via the Carretera Central, which leads across the Andes ranges (maximum pass height 4,800 m) into the department of Pasco. The road is fortunately asphalted throughout, but because of the heavy truck traffic between Lima and the mining town of Oroya, you should allow for a lot of driving time - expect 10 hours of driving time (the driving time given by Google is based on European conditions)! Your destination is the provincial town of Oxapampa, from where you continue by shared cab or your own car in the direction of Huancabamba. About 7 km after Oxapampa you will find the small village Quillazú, after another 20 km along the river you will reach the village Huancabamba after about 1 hour, where you turn right at the entrance to the village to the Hazienda Yanachaga, the main location of the project Centro Yanachaga.
